AURORA KART - HISTORY

Aurora Kart manufactured racing karts from 1999 to 2006 and were based in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia.

Founded by Australian champion kart racer Gerry Brookes in 1999, Aurora kart's goal was to produce a boutique brand of racing kart chassis that were hand built, assembled and delivered completely set-up to suit each individual customer.

Aurora Kart's were designed, developed and manufactured in Australia by Gerry Brookes and his late father Gerry Brookes Snr and were very successful in their era, with many state, national and international victories, including 2nd place at the World Rotax Finals in 2002 which today remains the highest place finish by an Australian driver in Rotax Max senior.

Aurora Kart ceased manufacturing karts many years ago, and even though these karts achieved some great results in their era, the huge number of different chassis manufactured or imported into australia combined with dwindling competitor numbers in both top level and club level kart racing spelt the end for the brand.
